Tuareg Mats Hand knotted with a natural reed & Leather, this art is in the form of mat, jewelry, leather, rugs, metal saddle decorations, and finely crafted swords, often made with a natural reed and leather. This style of mat was an old tradition rug that can handle the winds and climate desert as well the dry send blowing every day in the Sub Saharan desert of Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, and Mali. This mat rug is hand woven with palm, reed and leather ropes camel or goat.

Moroccan rug motifs influenced designers such as Ivan Da Silva Bruhn and Vladimir Boberman. American Interior Designer Francis Elkins used them in some of her most notable interiors in the 1930’s and 1940’s.
